What does ACiQ PC30 mean?

PC30 is a system high pressure protection fault. The outdoor pressure switch cuts off the system because the high-side pressure has risen above 4.4 MPa. This protects the system from operating at dangerous pressures, which typically results from poor heat rejection, a wiring fault at the switch, or a refrigerant-system problem.

Symptoms

  • PC30 shown on the display
  • System cuts off on high-pressure protection
  • Outdoor unit running hot with poor airflow
  • Possible dirty condenser coil

Common causes

  • High pressure switch miswired or faulty
  • Outdoor fan not running properly
  • Dirty heat exchanger / restricted condenser airflow
  • Refrigerant system overcharge or fault, or faulty outdoor main PCB

Diagnostic steps

  1. Check the pressure switch wiring

Confirm the high pressure switch and main control board are wired correctly; connect them properly if not.

  2. Verify the outdoor fan

Check that the outdoor fan is running; if not, follow the fan-speed-out-of-control procedure.

  3. Clean the heat exchanger

Inspect and clean the condenser coil if it is dirty to restore heat rejection.

  4. Replace the board if needed

Replace the outdoor main board and check whether the problem is resolved.

  5. Verify the refrigerant system

If the fault remains, confirm the refrigerant system is functioning properly.

When to call a professional

PC30 indicates dangerously high refrigerant pressure and may involve refrigerant-system faults requiring EPA-certified recovery and charging, plus work near high-voltage outdoor electronics. While cleaning the coil and checking the fan are reasonable first steps, contact a licensed HVAC technician if PC30 persists; pressure-switch testing, refrigerant verification, and board replacement must be done by a qualified professional.
