What does Convotherm E40 mean?
Convotherm shows E40 — ConvoSense communication error — on the maxx pro combi oven range. This is a collective communication code: it can flag a ConvoSense, cloud-server, cloud-service-provider or WiFi connection problem. The manual lists these reasons: Brief interruption of the communication due to external interference or momentary voltage fluctuation; There is a permanent communication error; An identical IP address was assigned to both appliances. This means that no reliable network connection is possible and will be interrupted sporadically; and others. The control flags the fault and holds the affected function until the message is cleared.

Power-cycle the appliance
Pull out the appliance plug or switch off the appliance circuit breaker and restart the appliance after a 1-minute waiting time
