What does Convotherm E58 mean?

Convotherm shows E58 — Cleaning agent missing! — on the maxx, maxx pro, mini combi oven range. The manual lists these reasons: No cleaning agent; Suction tube is drawing in air; Suction tube is kinked or pinched; and others. The control flags the fault and holds the affected function until the message is cleared.

Symptoms

• Display shows error code E58 (Cleaning agent missing!)
• The affected function is interrupted until the fault is cleared

Common causes

• No cleaning agent
• Suction tube is drawing in air
• Suction tube is kinked or pinched
• Pressure switch not reporting any pressure within 15 sec. of switching on the pump

Diagnostic steps

1. 01

   Refill or replace the ConvoClean canister

   Fill ConvoClean canister with cleaning agent If the canister is empty, replace the canister and confirm the message on the display

2. 02

   Seal the hose clamps

   Install and tighten hose clamps properly so that hose transitions are sealed properly

3. 03

   Check the hose for kinks

   Check the hose for kinks and fix the kinks

4. 04

   Vent the suction tube, then restart cleaning

   Suction tube is too long and must be vented separately: Acknowledge the message and start the cleaning again
