What does Electrolux Professional BSOt mean?
BSOt means the SkyLine oven's boiler SSR NTC (NTC4) has detected an over-temperature at the boiler solid-state relay. The boiler stops and cooking and cleaning are blocked, but the oven can keep working in a recovery mode where cycles do not use the boiler. Like the cavity SSR alarm, it is usually a cooling-airflow problem rather than the boiler itself.
Symptoms
- BSOt displayed
- Boiler stops; cooking and cleaning blocked
- Recovery mode runs cycles without the boiler
- Often follows a dirty inlet air filter
Common causes
- Inlet air filter dirty
- Cooling fan failure
- Cooling inlet drawing warm or hot air
- Oven installed beside a hot appliance
- Steam or heat leakage into the electronic compartment
Diagnostic steps
- 01
Do not switch the oven off
Keep the oven on and wait for the temperature to decrease.
- 02
Clean the inlet air filter
Clean the inlet air filter to restore cooling airflow to the SSR.
- 03
Check the cooling airflow
Use a thin strip of paper at the cooling air inlet to confirm air flow; if none, call Service.
- 04
Check surrounding heat
Check whether inlet cooling air is affected by heat from nearby hot appliances.
- 05
Call Service if it persists
If the error persists, call Service.

When to call a professional
Clean the filter and verify cooling airflow first. Call an Electrolux Professional engineer if no airflow is detected, the cooling fan looks failed, or BSOt persists. A failed cooling fan or steam leakage into the electronic compartment is an internal repair. Continued over-temperature at the boiler solid-state relay can damage the electronics, so professional service is warranted once basic airflow checks fail.
