Lambda (oxygen) probe problem

What does Electrolux Professional ELMb mean?

ELMb means the SkyLine oven has detected a problem with the lambda (oxygen) probe. All cycles stop except convection without humidity control and steam under 100 degrees C. The oven can continue in those limited modes, but steam-mode results may differ from usual because the oxygen sensor that fine-tunes humidity is faulty.

Symptoms

  • ELMb displayed
  • Only convection and steam under 100 C remain available
  • Humidity control disabled
  • Steam-mode cooking results may differ from usual

Common causes

  • Lambda probe failure

Diagnostic steps

  1. Use the available modes

Continue using the oven in steam under 100 C or convection without humidity control.

  2. Check steam results

Verify cooking results in steam mode, which may differ while the lambda probe is faulty.

  3. Avoid humidity-dependent recipes

Hold recipes that rely on precise humidity control until the probe is restored.

  4. Call Service to restore functionality

For restoring full functionality, call Service.

When to call a professional

Contact an Electrolux Professional engineer to restore full functionality after ELMb. The lambda oxygen probe is a specialised sensor that governs humidity control across the oven's cooking modes; replacing or recalibrating it is a service task. Running only in the reduced modes is acceptable short term, but humidity-controlled cooking will not be reliable until a technician repairs the probe.
