Power source interruption alarm (HACCP)

Source: Lainox/documents/ZO051BA__manuale-uso__en.pdf

What does Lainox POWER FAILURE mean?

The POWER FAILURE alarm is a HACCP alarm recording that the appliance lost its power source. The controller stores the alarm in its HACCP log and activates the alarm relay. Any cycle that was in progress restarts when power is restored. It flags that an interruption occurred, which may have affected product temperature during the outage.

Symptoms

  • POWER FAILURE alarm message appears after power is restored.
  • A cycle that was running resumes when power returns.
  • The alarm is stored in the HACCP log.
  • The alarm relay output is activated.
  • Cell temperature may have drifted during the outage.

Common causes

  • Mains power outage or interruption.
  • Tripped breaker or blown fuse feeding the appliance.
  • Plug or power connection partially or fully disconnected.
  • Loose or damaged supply wiring at the device.
  • Power dip long enough to exceed the stored-alarm threshold (parameter A10).

Diagnostic steps

  1. Check the device-source connection

As the manual directs, verify the appliance's connection to its power source, including the plug, supply, and any breaker or fuse.

  2. Confirm the cycle resumed correctly

Because an in-progress cycle restarts when power returns, confirm the cycle resumed and completed as expected after the outage.

  3. Assess product temperature

Check whether the cell and product temperature drifted during the interruption and evaluate any food-safety impact.

  4. Review the HACCP log

Review the stored power-failure event in the HACCP log and document the outage duration and any corrective action taken.

When to call a professional

If power failures recur without an obvious mains cause, have a technician check the supply connection, breaker, and internal wiring. Because this is a HACCP-logged event, evaluate affected product against your food-safety procedures; a prolonged outage may have compromised stored food even though the cycle resumes automatically.
