What does Frymaster E61 mean?
The FQ4000 controller stores a configuration parameter that identifies whether the fryer is a gas or electric model. This setting determines which heating control logic, relay sequences, and safety checks the controller runs. E61 means the stored energy type does not match the actual fryer hardware — most commonly occurring after a controller replacement when the new controller was not configured for the correct energy type.
Symptoms
- Display shows E61 at startup or when a heat command is issued.
- Fryer refuses to heat — the controller is running the wrong heating sequence for the installed hardware.
- May follow a controller board replacement if the technician did not configure energy type.
- No other obvious fault — the physical hardware appears normal.
