Frymaster E75 Error Code

OQS air error. The OQS is detecting air in the oil; check the O-rings and tighten the prescreen filter.

What does Frymaster E75 mean?

The OQS sensor measures oil quality as it flows through the sensor housing during a filtration cycle. E75 means the sensor is detecting air bubbles in the oil flow — air in the oil sample corrupts the dielectric measurement and makes a valid TPM reading impossible. Air enters the filtration circuit when there is a leak in the system that allows air to be drawn in as oil flows past the sensor.

Symptoms

  • Display shows E75 during a filtration cycle when the OQS is sampling.
  • No valid OQS reading is produced — the air-contaminated sample is discarded.
  • Unusual gurgling sounds may be audible from the filtration circuit as air is present in the oil stream.
  • E75 may recur on every filtration cycle if the air leak is not fixed.

Common causes

  • Worn, cracked, or missing O-rings at the OQS sensor fittings — most common cause.
  • Prescreen filter not fully seated or tightened, allowing air to enter the oil flow upstream of the sensor.
  • Loose fittings or connections in the filtration plumbing upstream of the OQS sensor.
  • Low oil level in the vat causing the filtration pump to draw air along with oil at the drain.

Diagnostic steps

  1. Inspect and replace the OQS O-rings

With the filtration system cooled and drained, disassemble the OQS sensor housing fittings and inspect the O-rings for cracking, flattening, or cuts. Replace all O-rings with OEM Frymaster O-rings of the correct specification — do not use generic O-rings that may not resist cooking oil.

  2. Check and tighten the prescreen filter

Locate the prescreen filter upstream of the OQS sensor (typically at the filter pan or in the filtration plumbing). Ensure it is fully seated and hand-tightened. A loose prescreen allows air to bypass the filter element and enter the oil stream.

  3. Inspect filtration plumbing connections

Check all threaded fittings, hose connections, and clamps in the filtration circuit between the filter pan and the OQS sensor. Tighten any loose fittings and replace damaged hose sections.

  4. Verify adequate oil level in the vat

Ensure the frypot is filled to the correct oil level mark. A low vat level can allow the drain to pull air when oil level drops during filtration. Top off the oil as needed.

  5. Run a filtration cycle and observe for E75

After servicing the O-rings and prescreen, run a complete filtration cycle and monitor for E75. If the code does not recur, confirm the OQS produces a valid reading on the next cycle.

When to call a professional

Contact a Frymaster technician if E75 persists after replacing O-rings and seating the prescreen filter, indicating an air leak that cannot be identified by external inspection. The OQS sensor housing or internal seals may require disassembly and service by a qualified technician. Frymaster service: 1-800-551-8633.
