TurboChef F10 Error Code
Communication Failure
Source: TurboChef/TBC-Bullet_spm.pdf
What does TurboChef F10 mean?
F10 signals that the UI control board (Phoenix) is no longer able to communicate with the I/O control board (SAGE). The Phoenix board handles the display and user-interface tasks while the SAGE board signals each oven component, so a break in their communication means the two halves of the control system can no longer talk to each other. F10 will terminate a cook cycle upon discovery.
Symptoms
- Display shows "F10: Communication Failure"
- Cook cycle terminates upon discovery
- Display (Phoenix) and I/O board (SAGE) appear out of sync
- Oven may not respond normally to commands
Common causes
- Loss of communication between the Phoenix UI board and the SAGE I/O board
- Disconnected or damaged communication harness between the two boards
- Defective UI control board (Phoenix)
- Defective I/O control board (SAGE)
- Bad boot-up after power was cycled

Diagnostic steps
Cycle power to the oven
Unplug the oven for about 30 seconds, plug it back in, and see if the boards re-establish communication after a clean boot.
Inspect the board-to-board harness
Check the communication wiring and connectors between the Phoenix UI board and the SAGE I/O board for damage or loose seating.
Verify control voltage to the SAGE board
Confirm 24 VDC is present at pin 2 of the J7 connector on the control board to verify control voltage is being applied.
Replace a defective control board
If communication cannot be restored, replace the defective UI control board (Phoenix) or I/O control board (SAGE) per the manual.
When to call a professional
F10 is a control-system fault that, beyond a power cycle, requires accessing the Phoenix and SAGE boards, checking the communication harness, verifying control voltage on the J7 connector, and potentially replacing a control board inside the electrical compartment. This is qualified-service-technician work. If a power cycle does not clear the fault, contact TurboChef Customer Support at 800.90TURBO or your Authorized Distributor.
Stop searching through PDFs. Our AI assistant on WhatsApp is trained on official TurboChef documentation and can diagnose this fault code and guide you through the repair in minutes.
