What does Unox WC07 mean?

WC07 is a lack-of-communication warning on the hood accessory. The oven can no longer communicate with the hood. The oven can still be used while the hood is unavailable and the warning flags the lost communication link, usually a cable or hood-board issue.

Symptoms

  • WC07 warning referencing the hood
  • Hood unresponsive to the oven
  • Oven still usable without the hood
  • Warning persists across restarts

Common causes

  • Loose or faulty communication cable to the hood
  • Hood board fault
  • Connector problem at the hood or oven
  • Hood not powered

Diagnostic steps

  1. 01

    Check hood power

Confirm the hood is powered, since it cannot communicate without power.

  2. 02

    Inspect the data cable

With power off, check the communication cable and connectors between oven and hood.

  3. 03

    Reseat and test

Reconnect the data cable and measure its continuity with a multimeter.

  4. 04

    Service the hood board

Replace the hood board if communication cannot be restored and retest.

When to call a professional

WC07 affects the hood accessory. Diagnosing the communication cable and hood board requires accessing the hood electronics; have a qualified Unox technician investigate if reseating the cable does not restore communication.
