What does Carel E221 mean?

E221 on Carel heaterSteam humidifiers indicates high ambient relative humidity, or in T-module (steam bath) configuration, high ambient temperature. The controller's room humidity probe or temperature transducer has detected a reading above the high-limit alarm threshold P2. This is a signal-only warning — the humidifier does not shut down — and resets automatically when the reading returns below the threshold.

Symptoms

• E221 warning displayed on the controller or remote terminal.
• Humidifier continues to operate normally — E221 does not stop production.
• Room humidity reading is above the P2 high-limit threshold.
• Alarm relay activates for the duration of the high-humidity condition.
