Door open alarm on the blast chiller

Source: Silko/Silko_BF030AE-R290_UserManual_CK_ML.pdf

What does Silko dOr mean?

dOr is the door-open alarm on Silko blast chillers. It appears when the blast chiller door is opened while a program or special function (other than defrost) is in progress. The controller deactivates the cell fan and, if parameter P6=0, the compressor, and it increases the alarm counter by one unit. Closing the door lets the program resume normally.

Symptoms

  • "dOr." is shown fixed on the display; pressing SET alternates between "40" and "dOr.".
  • The cell fan stops while the door is open during a cycle.
  • The compressor stops if parameter P6 is set to 0.
  • The internal alarm counter increments by one each time the alarm occurs.

Common causes

  • Blast chiller door opened during a running program or special function (excluding defrost).
  • Door not closed fully, leaving the door switch in the open state.
  • Worn or misaligned door gasket preventing a complete close.
  • Faulty door switch reporting the door as open.

Diagnostic steps

  1. Close the blast chiller door

Shut the door firmly so the program resumes normally. The dOr alarm is intended to clear once the door is closed during a cycle.

  2. Check the door seal and alignment

Inspect the door gasket and hinges to ensure the door seats fully; a poor seal can keep the switch in the open position.

  3. Verify the door switch

If the alarm persists with the door shut, the door switch may be faulty or misadjusted and should be tested.

  4. Review parameter P6 behaviour

Understand that with P6=0 the compressor also stops on a door-open event; confirm this matches the intended configuration.

  5. Confirm the cycle resumes

After closing the door, verify the cell fan and compressor restart and that the program continues to completion.

When to call a professional

Closing the door clears this alarm in normal use, so most dOr events need no service. Call a technician only if the alarm stays active with the door fully closed, which points to a faulty door switch, damaged gasket, or controller issue. Have a qualified technician test or replace the door switch with the appliance disconnected from power.
