Silko PF Error Code

Power failure (HACCP) alarm on refrigerated units

Source: Silko/Silko_SUTN_UserManual_CK_ML.pdf

What does Silko PF mean?

PF is the power failure HACCP alarm on Silko refrigerated units. The controller logs it when mains power to the appliance is interrupted and then restored. As a HACCP record it stores the cabinet temperature measured when power was restored (parameter AA). Unlike most alarms, PF does not clear automatically when conditions return to normal; the normal display must be restored manually by pressing a button.

Symptoms

  • "PF" is stored as a HACCP alarm and the HACCP LED indicates a saved alarm.
  • The recorded critical value is the chamber temperature when power was restored.
  • Normal temperature display is not restored automatically after the event.
  • The alarm remains until manually acknowledged.

Common causes

  • Mains power interruption to the appliance.
  • Tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse cutting supply to the unit.
  • Unplugged or loose power connection.
  • External power outage affecting the installation.

Diagnostic steps

  1. Restore the normal display

Press any button to clear the power failure indication and return the controller to the normal temperature display, as the manual specifies PF requires manual reset.

  2. Check the stored critical value

Review the HACCP record to see the chamber temperature when power was restored, which helps judge whether stored product stayed safe.

  3. Verify the power supply

Confirm the plug is correctly fitted and that the supplying breaker or fuse has not tripped.

  4. Assess stored food safety

If the cabinet warmed during the outage, evaluate product safety according to your food-safety procedures before further use.

  5. Monitor for recurrence

If PF recurs without an obvious outage, have the supply wiring and breaker checked for an intermittent fault.

When to call a professional

Acknowledging the alarm and checking the plug and breaker are operator tasks. Call an electrician or authorised service technician if the unit repeatedly logs power failures without an external outage, which can indicate a wiring fault, failing breaker, or loose internal connection. Have any internal electrical work done with the appliance disconnected from power.
