Silko Pr2 Error Code
Evaporator sensor error on refrigerated units
Source: Silko/Silko_SUTN_UserManual_CK_ML.pdf
What does Silko Pr2 mean?
Pr2 is the evaporator sensor (probe) error on Silko refrigerated units. The controller cannot read the evaporator temperature, so defrost and fan logic switch to fixed fallback behaviour: defrosting is activated for 30 minutes with parameter P3=1, or at intervals with P3=1 and d8=2; the evaporator fan runs in parallel with the compressor when F0=3 or 4; and the alarm output is activated when u1=3.
Symptoms
- "Pr2" appears on the controller display.
- Defrost runs on a fixed 30-minute timer or at intervals instead of by evaporator temperature.
- The evaporator fan runs in parallel with the compressor under certain parameter settings.
- The alarm output is activated when parameter u1=3.
Common causes
- Wrong sensor type configured for the evaporator probe.
- Evaporator sensor damaged or out of range.
- Faulty instrument-to-sensor connection.
- Evaporator temperature outside the sensor's valid measuring range.

Diagnostic steps
Verify the sensor type
Confirm the evaporator sensor set in the controller matches the sensor fitted, since the manual lists an incorrect sensor type as a cause.
Check the sensor integrity
Inspect the evaporator probe for damage and verify it is not open or shorted.
Check the instrument-sensor connection
Ensure the connection between the controller and the evaporator sensor is secure and undamaged.
Perform a manual defrost
Run a manual defrost cycle as the manual suggests to clear any frost build-up while the sensor fault is investigated.
Call for replacement if unresolved
If the fault persists, call an authorised technical support centre to replace the evaporator sensor and reset the controller settings.
When to call a professional
Checking the sensor connection and running a manual defrost are acceptable operator actions, but evaporator sensor replacement and controller-parameter corrections should be carried out by an authorised technical support centre. Always disconnect the appliance from power before internal work, and take extra care on R290 refrigerant units.
