Coreco E0 Error Code

Control probe (probe 1) error — signal interrupted, short-circuited or incompatible probe

Source: Coreco_easy_compact_eng_termostatos.pdf

What does Coreco E0 mean?

On the Coreco controller (Carel easy / easy compact), E0 is a control-probe fault on probe 1. The unit can no longer read the cabinet air temperature it regulates against, so refrigeration control is affected. The message is steady on the display if it is the only active alarm (the temperature value is hidden) and flashes if other alarms are also active. The alarm resets automatically once the probe reads correctly.

Symptoms

  • Display shows E0 steady (or flashing if other alarms are active)
  • Temperature value is not shown while E0 is the only active alarm
  • Buzzer sounds and the alarm relay activates
  • Temperature regulation is disturbed because probe 1 cannot be read
  • Erratic or absent compressor control on the controlled circuit

Common causes

  • Probe 1 signal interrupted (open circuit / broken wire or connector)
  • Probe 1 short-circuited
  • Probe not compatible with the instrument
  • Loose or corroded probe terminal connection
  • Faulty control probe element

Diagnostic steps

  1. Confirm it is the control-probe alarm

E0 is the control-probe (probe 1) error. Note whether it is steady (only active alarm) or flashing (other alarms present) to confirm which probe the controller is reporting.

  2. Mute the buzzer

Press the SET button to mute the buzzer. The displayed code and the alarm relay only clear once the underlying cause is resolved.

  3. Inspect the probe wiring and connector

With power isolated, check probe 1's signal lead and terminal for an interrupted (open) or short-circuited connection, and reseat the connector if it is loose or corroded.

  4. Verify probe compatibility

Confirm the fitted probe is the correct type for this instrument; an incompatible probe also raises E0.

  5. Replace the probe if faulty

If the wiring is sound and the probe is the correct type, replace probe 1. The alarm resets automatically when the controller reads the probe correctly.

When to call a professional

Access to the electrical parts of the cabinet, for installation or maintenance, is authorised to qualified personnel only. If checking the probe wiring and connector does not clear E0, or if the probe must be replaced or the controller diagnosed, have a qualified refrigeration technician carry out the work so the control circuit is restored safely and correctly.
