Coreco EF Error Code
Operating parameter reading (data) error — manual reset
Source: Coreco_easy_compact_eng_termostatos.pdf
What does Coreco EF mean?
On the Coreco controller (Carel easy / easy compact), EF is an operating-parameter reading error, a data error shown during operation or at power-up. Like other data errors it can compromise correct operation. Unlike the EE unit-parameter error, EF requires a manual reset to clear once the underlying data problem is addressed.
Symptoms
- Display shows EF during operation or on power-up
- Buzzer sounds (the LED/buzzer indication is active)
- Controller operation may be affected by the operating-parameter data error
- Alarm does not clear on its own — it needs a manual reset
- May reappear if the saved operating data remains in error
Common causes
- Microprocessor detected an error in the saved operating-parameter data
- Corruption of stored operating parameters in controller memory
- Disturbance during a parameter save (e.g. power loss while writing)
- Internal memory issue affecting operating parameters
- Controller fault when the error persists after a reset

Diagnostic steps
Note when EF appears
EF is an operating-parameter (data) error shown during operation or at power-up. Record the circumstances in which it appears.
Mute the buzzer
Press SET to silence the buzzer while you address the underlying data error.
Perform the manual reset
Unlike EE, the EF operating-parameter error has a manual reset; clear it manually once the data condition has been dealt with.
Re-check the operating parameters
After the reset, confirm the operating parameters are correct, as a data error can compromise correct operation of the instrument.
Escalate if it persists
If EF returns after a reset and re-check, treat it as a persistent data fault that needs further investigation of the controller.
When to call a professional
If EF recurs after a manual reset and a parameter re-check, the controller's stored data is likely faulty and needs expert attention. Resetting and re-verifying operating parameters, and replacing the controller if required, involve the cabinet's electrical system, access to which is reserved for qualified personnel.

Other Coreco Error Codes
Control probe (probe 1) error — signal interrupted, short-circuited or incompatible probe
Evaporator / defrost probe (probe 2) error — signal interrupted, short-circuited or incompatible probe
Condenser / product probe (probe 3) error — signal interrupted, short-circuited or incompatible probe
Immediate or delayed alarm from the multifunction digital input (external alarm)
Open-door alarm from the door-switch digital input
Low-temperature alarm — measured temperature below set point by more than parameter AL
High-temperature alarm — measured temperature above set point by more than parameter AH
Unit parameter reading (data) error — saved configuration data error
Defrost ended by timeout — last defrost stopped on maximum duration, not on temperature
Defrost running — status message shown during a defrost cycle (not an alarm)
Dirty-condenser warning/alarm — pre-alarm (cht) between Ac-AE and Ac, then alarm (CHt) when Ac is exceeded and refrigeration stops (manual reset)
Internal clock (RTC) alarm — clock fault; reset by setting the time
