What does Coreco rtC mean?

On the Coreco controller (Dixell XW30/XW60/XW70) with the optional RTC, rtC is the real-time-clock alarm: the clock has to be set. While rtC is present, scheduled (time-band) defrosts fall back to the idF interval.

Symptoms

  • Display shows rtC
  • Scheduled/time-band defrosts revert to the idF interval
  • Clock time lost or not set

Common causes

  • Real-time clock not set (e.g. after a long power loss)
  • RTC enabled but time invalid
  • Power interruption affecting the clock

Diagnostic steps

  1. 01

    Set the real-time clock

rtC is reset by setting the time — enter the Hur/Min/dAY clock parameters and re-enter the current time and day.

  2. 02

    Confirm scheduled defrosts

After setting the clock, verify the time-band defrosts (Ld/Sd) resume.

When to call a professional

If rtC returns after the clock is set correctly, the RTC hardware may be at fault (see rtF); have a qualified technician assess the controller.
