What does Jeros AL 05 mean?

AL 05 means the thermal cut-out protecting the rinse pump has triggered because the rinse pump was overloaded. The manual notes the machine can continue at reduced operation, and instructs an engineer call-out if the error reoccurs.

Symptoms

  • AL 05 shown on the operating panel display
  • Machine continues at reduced operation while the alarm is active
  • Alarm returns on subsequent cycles

Common causes

  • Rinse pump overloaded, triggering its thermal cut-out
  • Overload condition that persists across cycles

Diagnostic steps

  1. 01

Note that reduced operation is permitted

Per the manual the machine can continue at reduced operation with AL 05 active.

  2. 02

Switch the machine OFF and then ON again when practical

Power-cycle the machine to reset the control after the thermal event.

  3. 03

If AL 05 reoccurs, call an engineer

A repeating rinse-pump overload needs an engineer per the manual — rinse performance is hygiene-relevant on these machines.

When to call a professional

Call an engineer if AL 05 reoccurs after a power cycle, as the manual instructs. The rinse stage is what brings final-rinse water to temperature at the nozzles, so a repeatedly tripping rinse pump should not be worked around indefinitely.
