What does Jeros AL 13 mean?

AL 13 means the phase-sequence sensor has detected the three-phase supply connected in the opposite phase sequence to the factory setting. The sensor exists to ensure the pumps turn in the right direction, so the alarm appears in the operating panel display and the machine cannot be started. The manual's fix is to swap two phases — reverse L1 and L2 of the connection cable at the main switch.

Symptoms

  • AL 13 shown on the operating panel display
  • Machine cannot be started while the alarm is active
  • Alarm typically appears right after installation, reconnection or repair work on supply or pump cabling

Common causes

  • Three-phase supply connected with the opposite phase sequence to the factory setting
  • A pump cable re-fitted with the wrong phase order after repair work

Diagnostic steps

  1. 01

Have the supply phases swapped at the main switch

Per the manual: reverse two phases — e.g. L1 and L2 — of the connection cable at the main switch. This is mains electrical work for an authorised electrician.

  2. 02

    Verify pump rotation direction

The manual notes arrows on the pump motors showing correct rotation: after any cable work, check the motor fan turns in the arrow's direction.

  3. 03

Re-check after any repair that touched a pump cable

The manual warns that a pump cable removed during repairs must be re-fitted with the correct phase sequence and the rotation re-checked.

When to call a professional

AL 13's fix is at the mains connection — swapping supply phases at the main switch — and Jeros requires installation work to be done by authorised electricians. Do not open the main switch yourself; have an electrician reverse L1 and L2 and confirm pump rotation.
